Special Custom Projects: Fireplace upgrades and stone/masonry work In the first example of this slideshow, the homeowner wanted to upgrade their fireplace from condominium grade to a custom rustic feel. A half-sawn pine log lagged into the wall completely changed the mantle. Next, engineered stone set around the fireplace surround changed the look and feel of the walls while matching the depth of the new "wall log," instead of the previous flat surface tile wall. Setting large brown tone porcelain tile on the hearth continues the rustic feel. The larger footprint of the hearth helped expand the drying out space in front of the fireplace during winter activities. The combination of stone, tile, and rough sawn wood creates a wonderful change in the room. The finished product created both a warm feel and eye appeal with more usable space for everday living. We also offer general "Handyman" services for home improvements and repairs. No job is too small. |
